Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Lorraine Reed has been employed at Wyoming Behavioral Institute since 2007 as a member of the medical team providing care for children and adolescents. She started her healthcare career as a registered nurse, obtaining her degree from the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Nursing in Pennsylvania in 1970. Her pediatric nurse practitioner degree was completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston in 1980. Lorraine also completed the Basic Medical Training Academy at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, and training in the medical evaluation of child/adolescent sexual abuse at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher for children and adults specializing in Trauma Sensitive Yoga for survivors of any type of trauma. She teaches yoga for adults and adolescents at WBI, in addition to providing medical care. Lorraine is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, the Wyoming Council for Advance Practice Nurses and the National Yoga Alliance. She is certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board for primary care.
