Stephen L. Brown, M.D. - Medical Director
Dr. Stephen Brown is board certified in General and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. He directs the private practice in child and adolescent psychiatry in Casper. He also is the Medical Director of Wyoming Behavioral Institute. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Southern California and trained at Washington University in St. Louis' Barnes and St. Louis Children's Hospital where he received the Award for Clinical Excellence.
Extensively involved in Wyoming medicine since 1990, Dr. Brown is presently serving on the executive committee of the Wyoming Medical Society and the Wyoming Association of Psychiatric Physician's,
alternate delegate to the American Medical Society, and the Western States Deputy Representative to the American Psychiatric Association. He is also on the Assembly Executive Committee of the APA. Dr.
Brown has been honored with the Distinguished Fellow of the APA designation. He also teaches psychiatry for the University of Washington and the University of Wyoming to WWAMI students and family practice
Lida Prypchan, M.D.
Dr. Prypchan began her career in psychiatry at a young age, conducting patient interviews while working for her psychiatrist father in his private practice in Venezuela. She completed her medical education at the University of Carabobo in Venezuela, the Universidad Central de Venezuela, and Elmhurst Hospital Center/Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, where she also completed a two-year fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. Prypchan's past experience also includes working as a research associate with Matcheri Keshavan, MD, Duncan Clark, MD, Juan Mezzich, MD and at the University of Pittsburgh's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic in the fields of schizophrenia, anxiety disorders in children and adolescents, and diagnostic classification systems in psychiatry.
More than 200 articles authored by Dr. Prypchan have been published. She is a three-time recipient of the National Award of Scientific Journalism in Valencia, Venezuela.
Dr. Prypchan is an attending psychiatrist at Wyoming Behavioral Institute specializing in inpatient treatment for children and adults.
David Martorano, MD, Assistant Medical Director and Director of Adult Psychiatric Services
Dr. David Martorano obtained his medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of California Neuropsychiatric Institute. He specializes in addictions and is affiliated with the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the California Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Martorano is a second-generation psychiatrist raised near New York City. He began working in the field of software development while still in high school, later founding two companies. Dr. Martorano also worked professionally as a singer before going back to school to study medicine. Dr. Martorano is treating adults on an inpatient and outpatient basis at WBI.
Jiri Danczik, MD
Dr. Jiri Danczik was born and raised in the Czech Republic. Dr. Danczik graduated from medical school Cum Laude in Prague in 1991. He moved from the Czech Republic to the United States in 1997, and successfully finished Psychiatric Residency training at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY, where he also worked as a Chief Resident. In 2002 he was Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Danczik has helped patients in multiple settings, including acute inpatient, residential and outpatient facilities. He has experience working with children, adolescents and adults. He specializes in diagnosis and treatment of a wide variety of psychiatric conditions, including Bipolar Disorders, Major Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and substance use disorders. Dr. Danczik's personal interests include Judo, Arabian horses, literature and music. He has been living in Wyoming since 2006. He began providing inpatient and outpatient treatment at WBI in 2016.
Laurie Johnson, PA-C
Laurie Johnson has worked in emergency, specialty and primary care settings in Wyoming for more than a decade. She has extensive experience with patients experiencing mental health crises. She obtained her paramedic certification from the United Hospital Paramedic Program in Grand Forks, ND, her associate's degree in biology from Western Wyoming College, her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Wyoming, and her master's degree from Central Michigan University. Her personal interests include international medical missions and Special Olympics. Laurie is a medical and psychiatric health care provider at Wyoming Behavioral Institute. Jennifer Rosics, PA-C
Jennifer Rosics obtained biology, medical technician and wildlife management degrees from Casper College, a biology degree from the University of Wyoming, and her master's in physician assistant studies from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Jennifer has experience with pain management, her primary area of interest, gastroenterology and primary care. She joined Wyoming Behavioral Institute in 2014, working with adults.
Jason Sweazy, RN, BSN, MS-PMHNP-BC
Jason Sweazy is psychiatric nurse practitioner licensed to practice in Wyoming and Colorado, with experience treating children, adolescents, and adults on an emergent, inpatient, and outpatient basis. His professional interests include trauma, post-traumatic stress, substance and behavior addictions, and bio-ethics. Jason obtained a bachelor's degree in biology from Hastings College, a bachelor's degree in nursing from Regis University, and master's degrees in nursing from the University of Colorado, where he is currently enrolled to obtain a Doctor of Nurse Practice degree. During his employment with Denver Health Medical Center, he was the recipient of three awards for collaboration, teamwork, and extraordinary service. His personal interests include studying Spanish, playing the violin, winter sports, and travel. Jason brings a variety of work experience to his role as an advance practice nurse. He has extensive experience providing spiritual care and counseling. He has experience as a registered nurse providing cardiac and psychiatric care. In addition to healthcare, he has worked in the construction industry in Alaska, Colorado, Texas, Nebraska, and Antarctica. Jason joined the Wyoming Behavioral Institute team in 2016.
Kelly Plessman, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Kelly obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Wyoming in 1990 and her master's degree in nursing from Walden University. She has more than 20 years of nursing experience in Wyoming, working mainly in primary care and hospital settings. Kelly specializes in adult wellness and is adding mental health to her areas of practice. Her other interests include family, and being in the outdoors, hunting, camping, and fishing. Kelly joined Wyoming Behavioral Institute in 2016.
Jennifer Frausto, APRN, FPMHNP-BC
Jennifer Frausto is board certified as a Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is the Medical Director for WBI's Foundations for Success, an outpatient program serving kindergarten, first and second graders. Jennifer is from Cheyenne and completed her undergraduate studies in nursing at the University of Wyoming. She received her master's degree from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with an emphasis in psychiatric nursing. She has experience working with children, adolescents, adults and seniors in outpatient and intensive inpatient psychiatric settings. Jennifer's past experience also includes working as a medical-surgical hospital registered nurse. She is completing her doctoral studies in nursing practice at the University of Colorado.
